‘Reimagining’ (2025)
Debut EP ft. remixes & music video
Reimagining is my debut EP, released in May 2025 on Night Shop Records.
Through ‘Reimagining’ I unabashedly fused my femininity and pop-centric tendencies into bass music. I called it ‘ethereal bass’: music for crying in the club to, for loving to.
Across four tracks, ‘Reimagining’ was an emotional plea to not let yourself conform to the sound worlds surrounding you, and pave your own way. It begins with ‘Kalinka’, reinterpreting the iconic eponymous Russian folk song through layered harmonies and dubstep rhythms. ‘bassbassbass’ locks into a 2-step groove with undulating, ever-evolving harmonies as the grounded basis. ‘Reimagining’, matching the EP’s title, is an emotional jungle track intended for sunrise catharsis, featuring harpist Genevieve Fry. ‘Leah’ closes the EP, an experimental bass number named after my grandmother, inspired by Armenian duduk melodies of the hijaz scale.
The music video for ‘Reimagining’ was directed by Maxine Zanoni, featuring movement artist Bianca Dimattina.
A remix EP followed, featuring Cairo- based experimental techno and bass producer Hassan Abou Alam and Brisbane- based producer Scalymoth.
Reimagining culminated in a live launch at Miscellania in July 2025, where I played live featuring Genevieve Fry and Bianca Dimattina.
